Donald E. Russell 71 Oblong died Friday January 4, 2002 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson from cancer. He was born January 7, 1930 in Hunt City Township in Jasper County, Illinois. His mother was Mae. R. (McCleave) Russell Nash. On May 2, 1951 her married Barbara Jean Wright who died August 24, 1982. Don was the Service Manager at Webster Ford in Newton for many years and was also a self employed farmer and still did mechanic work. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Oblong. Don was also a member of the Robinson Moose Lodge #1369 and his hobbies included hunting, fishing and being outside.

Don is survived by 5 grandchildren Mathew Russell, James Doyle J. D. Sharrett, Laura Kay Sharrett, Melissa Stone and Anissa Williams; 3 great grandchildren Ashtin Plew-Stone, Michaela Stone and Alicia Williams; a former daughter-in-law Kay & Jerry Sharrett; 1 Aunt, Mildred McCleave and several nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, wife and 1 son Anthony Wayne Russell.

Burial will be in Oblong Cemetery.
